New Delhi: In remembrance of playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, Kamdar Nagar, the first street in Chennai Nungambakkam on Wednesday officially renamed as 'SP Balasubrahmanyam Street' by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, where SP Balasubrahmanyam's residence is located in Chennai.


The renaming event attracted fans and admirers of the late singer, who passed away in September 2020.

SP Balasubrahmanyam, fondly known as SPB, was a celebrated playback singer with a career spanning over five decades. 

He recorded thousands of songs in multiple languages and was known for his versatility and emotive singing style. 

His legacy continues to inspire aspiring musicians and music lovers across the country.
