Kangana Slapgate: CISF Constable Kulwinder Kaur Transferred to Bengaluru, Remains Suspended

Kulwinder Kaur, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable who allegedly slapped Kangana Ranaut at the Chandigarh airport has been transferred.

New Delhi: Kulwinder Kaur, a CISF officer who slapped actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh Airport, has been transferred to Bengaluru. Despite transfer, Kaur remains suspended. This transfer is part of standard operating procedures (SOP) to prevent any influence on ongoing investigation, as officers are moved from ir current posts to ensure impartiality.  

Kulwinder Kaur Still Suspended

In a statement, CISF said that Kaur is still suspended. “CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur, who allegedly slapped BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, is still suspended and a departmental inquiry against her is still on.”

Who is Kulwinder Kaur?

Constable Kulwinder Kaur hails from Sultanpur Lodhi in Punjab and has been serving at Chandigarh Airport for past two years. She is married to anor CISF personnel, and toger y have two children. Her bror, Sher Singh, is a prominent figure, holding position of organization secretary of Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, reflecting family's close ties to agricultural community in Punjab.

What H Happened at Chandigarh Airport?

On 7th June, during a security check at Chandigarh Airport, a verbal altercation occurred between Kangana Ranaut and CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur.

Following frisking process, altercation escalated, leing to Kaur slapping Ranaut. Kaur later explained that she was provoked by derogatory remarks Ranaut h me about Punjabi women during farmers' agitation against three farm laws. Despite incident, Ranaut boarded her flight as scheduled.  

Kangana Issues Statement

Kangana Ranaut took to social media platform X to issue a statement, revealing that she was hit on face and verbally abused by a CISF woman constable during a security check at Chandigarh airport. In a video titled "Shocking rise in terror and violence in Punjab," she expressed her safety but also her concern over increasing terrorism in Punjab.

Ranaut, who issued statement after landing in Delhi, recounted event, stating that constable approached her from side, hit her on face, and began abusing her. When Ranaut asked for an explanation, Kaur reportedly said she supported farmers' protests.

Kangana Ranaut was elected to Lok Sabha from Mandi constituency in Himachal Presh, defeating her nearest Congress rival by over 74,000 votes.
