New Delhi: A Delhi court has granted interim bail until December 7 to Abhishek Gupta, CEO of Rau's IAS Study Circle, and Deshpal Singh, the institute's coordinator, in connection with the tragic deaths of three civil service aspirants in July. The students lost their lives due to flooding in the centre's basement.
Principal District and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna issued the bail on the condition that both accused provide a personal bond of ₹1 lakh each, along with two sureties of the same amount.
In a significant directive, the judge ordered Gupta to deposit ₹2.5 crore with the Red Cross Society by November 30.
This decision is based on the lease agreement stipulating that Gupta, as the lessee and CEO, is solely responsible for any claims or damages arising from incidents on the premises.
The court emphasized the roles of Gupta and Singh, noting their responsibility in managing the operations of Rau's IAS Study Circle.
