New Delhi: A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 struck Pakistan on Wednesday afternoon. The seismic waves also impacted parts of northern India, affecting Delhi-NCR, and states like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana , Punjab , and Jammu and Kashmir at around 1 PM.
The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) reported that the earthquake struck Pakistan at 12:58 pm, with its epicentre located 25 km southwest of Karor at a depth of 33 km. Tremors were also felt in several major Pakistani cities, including Islamabad and Lahore.
The seismic activity prompted a flurry of reactions on social media.
No immediate reports of damage or injuries have been received from Delhi or its surrounding areas following the tremors.
