BREAKING: EC Reschedules Polling Date for By-Elections in 14 Assembly Seats

UP Bypolls 2024: Election Commission of India changed date of by-polls in 14 assembly constituencies from vember 13 to vember 20. bypoll dates have been changed for assembly constituencies in Kerala , Punjab , and Uttar Presh after several parties BJP , INC, BSP, and RLD kcked on Election Commission's door and cited "large scale social, cultural, and religious engments on that day (vember 13)". For unversed, Election Commission h scheduled bypolls on vember 13 for 48 assembly constituencies and two Lok Sabha seats. 

14 seats for which polling has been rescheduled are:-

1. Palakk ( Kerala )
2. Dera Baba Nanak ( Punjab )
3.  Chamberman ( Punjab )
4.  Gidderbaha ( Punjab )
5. Barnala (Punjab)
6.  Meerapur (UP) 
7. Kundarki (UP)
8. Ghaziab (UP) 
9. Khair (UP)
10. Karhal (UP)
11. Sishamau (UP)
12. Phulpur (UP) 
13. Katehari (UP) 
14. Majhawan (UP)

“Representations have been received in Commission from various recognised national and state political parties (including BJP , INC, BSP, RLD) and some social organisations for change of date for poll in some Assembly constituencies having by-elections on 13th vember, 2024, considering large scale social, cultural and religious engments on that day which may cause inconvenience to large number of people, give rise to various logistic issues and may le to reduced voters participating during poll,” a tification issued by EC re.
