Jammu and Kashmir: 3 Terrorists Killed in Baramulla Encounter
According to sources, the encounter broke out after security forces spotted terrorist movements in the area.

Jammu: Three terrorists were killed after an encounter broke out between security forces and suspected terrorists in the Tapper area of Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir, on Saturday. This came on a day when Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the Union Territory to address a mega rally in Doda district ahead of the assembly polls.
According to sources, the encounter broke out after security forces spotted terrorist movements in the area. Initially hiding in a nearby school, the terrorists relocated to an orchard after detection of their movement. Following an exchange of fire, search for them is being conducted using drones.
According to the Chinar Corps, a vital unit of the Indian Army, the encounter, which is ongoing, broke out on the intervening night of September 13 and 14.
The Chinar Corps posted on X," Based on specific intelligence input regarding presence of terrorists, a Joint Operation was launched by #IndianArmy & @JmuKmrPolice on the intervening night of 13-14 Sep 24 in general area Chak Tapar Kreeri, Baramulla. Contact was established and firefight ensued.
2 Army Jawans Martyred In Encounter With Terrorists In Kishtwar
This comes a day after two Army jawans lost their lives in an encounter with alleged Jaish terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district on Friday evening. According to the information shared by the Indian Army, two other Army jawans had also sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The security forces later cordoned off the area and the encounter was underway in the area.
Based on intelligence inputs, the Army conducted a joint operation with the Jammu and Kashmir Police at Chatroo area in Kishtwar earlier on Friday.
Earlier, the White Knight Corps, in a post on X, stated, "Based on the intelligence inputs, a joint operation with J&K Police was launched in area Chatroo at #Kishtwar. A contact was established and scout leading the patrol exchanged heavy volume of fire with the terrorists at 1530 hrs. In the ensuing firefight, four army personnel have been injured. The operation is in progress."
The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing a rise in terrorist attacks ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls, the first elections in the region in 10 years and after the abrogation of Article 370 from the UT.
On Wednesday, two terrorists were killed in an encounter in Basantgarh near the Kathua-Udhampur border in the Union Territory. A gunfight had broken out between security forces and terrorists in Udhampur district earlier in the day.
