BREAKING: Former Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy Booked in Criminal Case

An FIR was filed based on a complaint filed by TDP MLA and the former MP K Raghu Rama Krishna Raju.

Visakhapatnam: Guntur Police filed a criminal case against former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday. Apart from Jagan, two IPS officials,  (then AP CID chief PV Sunil Kumar & Intelligence chief PSR Anjaneyulu) have also been booked.

An FIR was filed based on a complaint filed by TDP MLA and the former MP K Raghu Rama Krishna Raju.

The case has ben filed under sections 120b,166,167,197,307,326,465,506 r/w 34 of the IPC. Police invoked the Indian Penal Code (IPC) as the case is three years old. 

TDP MLA Raghu Rama Krishna Raju alleged that he was subjected to "custodial torture on the instructions of Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said he had earlier approached the SC and the High Court and now has filed a complaint with the Police. Further investigation into the matter is underway.

The case was registered at Nagarampalem police station in Guntur.

Raju's 2021 arrest case came to the fore in Andhra Pradesh after he lodged a complaint against Reddy and some officials over it on June 11. He was arrested in May, 2021 in the middle of the Covid-19 second wave.
