New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday reviewed security scenario with senior officials regarding situation in Manipur amid rising tensions in norastern state.

Home Minister Amit Shah will also hold a key security meeting on Monday over security scenario in BJP -ruled state, news agency ANI reported.

Earlier today, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also cancelled his rallies in poll-bound Maharashtra to hold an unscheduled meeting in national capital.

On November 16, mobs h set fire to residences of three more BJP legislators, one of whom is a senior minister, and a Congress MLA in various districts of Imphal Valley on Saturday night even as security forces foiled an attempt by agitators to storm ancestral residence of Chief Minister N Biren Singh.

Mob Attacks Residence of BJP Leers In Manipur

As tensions continue to prevail, Director General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Anish Dayal Singh is scheduled to visit Manipur amid continued tensions in region, sources were quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

Manipur police officials have arrested 23 individuals who were part of mob involved in alleged "ransacking and arson of houses”.

Amid escalating tensions in state, a complete curfew has been imposed in Imphal until furr notice. In response, government has temporarily suspended internet and mobile data services for two days.

Police officials said that eight people were injured during efforts to disperse a mob that targeted homes and properties of public representatives in Imphal.
