India Seeks Extradition Of Wanted Terrorist Arsh Dalla After Canada Denies Appeal

New Delhi, India: India on Thursday formally reacted to media reports about arrest of a wanted terrorist and close associate of slain Khalistani rical Hardeep Singh Nijjar, Arshdeep Singh, alias Arsh Dalla in Cana. Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed arrest of Dalla, who is a key figure in Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) and has been involved in over 50 criminal cases, including murder, terrorism, and extortion.
external affairs ministry’s spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “Given recent arrest, our agencies will be following up on an extrition request. Given Arsh Dalla’s criminal record in India and his involvement in similar illegal activities in Cana, it is expected that he will be extrited or deported to face justice in India".

Indian government h alerted Cana to Dalla's illegal activities and requested his provisional arrest in July 2023, which was initially declined. India h also sent a request for mutual legal assistance (MLAT) in January 2023 to assist in verifying his residential details, financial transactions, and or relevant information. Despite providing ditional evidence, India's request for his provisional arrest was not acted upon at time.
