New Delhi: Owing to bad weather conditions, IndiGo has temporarily suspended flights in six cities - Pantnagar, Chandigarh, Bhopal, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Patna. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the airline also shared a link for flyers so that they can check their flight status beforehand.
The Merchant Chamber had received notification from the headquarters indicating that approximately 30 planes were currently grounded due to engine issues, with an additional 30-40 aircraft expected to face similar grounding between January and March 2024, following directives from the DGCA.
IndiGo, despite experiencing a suspension of flights, had been receiving substantial passenger traffic from Kanpur. However, the impact extended beyond Kanpur, with over 30 flights being cancelled nationwide. In response, IndiGo is actively working to augment its aircraft fleet. The airline remains optimistic that, with DGCA approval, all previously cancelled or postponed flights from April onwards can be seamlessly reinstated.
