J&K: 3 Terrorists Killed in Kupwara, 2 Injured in Rajouri

Jammu: At least three terrorists were killed in a twin encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara on Thursday.

According to Republic's sources, the encounter broke out between the security force and terrorists in Kupwara's Machil sector.

Meanwhile, another encounter is underway in Kupwara's Tangdhar that broke out on Wednesday. The exchange of firing began at the Khushal Post in the Tangdhar area, near the Line of Control, they said.

As per the latest information, one terrorist is likely neutralised.

2 Injured Trapped in Rajpouri

An encounter broke out in the Khwas area of Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, in the wee hours of Thursday, according to sources.

Heavy firing is currently ongoing as security forces engage with two terrorists are reported to be injured in the Lathi area of Khwas.

The encounter began after security forces set up an ambush based on the movement of terrorists. The exchange of fire is still ongoing as the situation develops.

Wednesday night, a pre-dawn cordon and search operation was launched by security forces after reports of suspicious movement, leading to an exchange of fire.

Senior army officials are closely monitoring these operations to ensure their effectiveness and safety in the regions ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
