2 Health Officials Removed After Mamata Banerjee-Doctors Meet
Mamata Banerjee confirmed that the govt would remove the Director of Medical Education (DME) and the Director of Health Services (DHS) from their positions.

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced the removal of two health officials and the Kolkata Commissioner of Police on Tuesday following extensive talks with protesting junior doctors. Mamata Banerjee 's decision comes as a response to the demands made by the doctors. During a press briefing, Banerjee confirmed that the government would remove the Director of Medical Education (DME) and the Director of Health Services (DHS) from their positions, addressing two of the four demands put forth by the protesting doctors. “They had four demands. We have decided to remove the DME and DHS as per their requests,” she stated.
Additionally, the chief minister revealed that the Kolkata Commissioner of Police, Vineet Goyal, would be replaced. “The doctors also demanded the removal of CP Vineet Goyal. We have agreed to this and will ensure that he hands over his responsibilities to a new Commissioner of Police after 4 pm today,” Banerjee added. Furthermore, she announced the removal of the North Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC).
