Massive Fire Engulfs Building in Delhi's Uttam Nagar After Cylinder Blast, 3 Injured

A massive fire engulfed a four-storey residential building in the Uttam Nagar area of ​​Delhi on Monday after an explosion occurred in a cooking gas cylinder.

New Delhi: A massive fire engulfed a four-storey residential building in the Uttam Nagar area of ​​Delhi on Monday after an explosion occurred in a cooking gas cylinder. The blast was so powerful that a part of the wall of the house reportedly collapsed due to the intensity. On information, the local police along with a team of fire-fighters rushed to the spot and initiated a rescue operation.

According to the police, as many as three people were injured during the incident, which took place at around 2.15 pm, on the second floor of a four-storey residential building in Uttar Nagar’s Sanjay Enclave area.

A senior fire official stated that the cylinder blast took place in the house in the Sanjay Enclave area. Information about the fire was received at around 2.15 pm, following which over 6 fire tenders were mobilised to the spot and efforts were initiated to control the fire.

At the spot, as many as 3 people of the house were found injured, who were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The victims have been identified as Nakul (18), Reena (22) and Surbhi (11). The fire was brought under control at around 3.35 pm.

The police have registered a case under relevant sections and initiated a probe into the matter to ascertain the exact cause of fire.
