Holiday declared for Schools & Colleges in Puducherry, Heavy Rain brings Normal Life to Standstill

Puducherry: Normal life has been hampered in Puducherry on Monday, January 8, with incessant rain pounding region in last 24 hours due to which schools and colleges in union territory have been closed.
Chief Minister N Rangasamy announced that all schools and colleges would remain closed in union territory on Monday.

Severe waterlogging has been reported from low-lying areas in Puducherry. Standing crop was affected in several parts of union territory, said reports.
Meanwhile, fishermen did not put out to sea owing to heavy rainfall caused due to a trough of easterlies in southwest Bay of Bengal.
