BREAKING: Pune Metro's Shivajinagar Court to Katraj 5.4 Km Stretch To Be Inaugurated on Sept 29
Pune: The Pune Metro's 5.4 km stretch extending from Shivajinagar Court to Swargate-Katraj is set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 29. PM Modi will inaugurate the new metro stretch of the Pune Metro virtually, after his visit to Pune was cancelled in the wake of the heavy rainfall. Union Minister of State For Civil Aviation and Cooperation Murlidhar Mohol on Friday shared the information saying that the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Metro line between Shivajinagar District Court and Swargate in Pune. Besides inaugurating the corridor, he will also lay the foundation of the Swargate-Katraj Metro stretch on Sunday.
Union Minister Mohol, in a post on X, said, “Hon. PM Shri. Narendra Modi ji will be inaugurating the Shivajinagar District Court-Swargate stretch of Pune Metro and laying the foundation stone of Swargate-Katraj stretch virtually, on 29th September.”
PM Modi’s visit to Pune on Thursday was cancelled due to heavy rains in the city. He was to flag off the Metro corridor and launch development projects of Rs 22,600 crore ahead of the Maharashtra assembly elections.
Preparations were underway at the SP College ground in Pune for Prime Minister Narendra Modi ’s visit on Thursday, but heavy rains disrupted the event which led to the cancellation of the PM’s scheduled visit.
