Ratan Tata, the chairman emeritus of Tata Sons, is reported to be in critical condition and receiving intensive care at a Mumbai hospital, according to two sources cited by Reuters. 

The 86-year-old industrialist had announced on Monday that he was undergoing routine medical investigations due to age-related health concerns. Since then, there has been growing concern about his well-being. 

On earlier reports of Ratan Tata's hospitalisation at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai and his condition being serious, the industrialist had issued a statement, giving clarity on rumours around his health.

The 86-year-old industrialist had issued a health update in a post on his social media account on Instagram, requesting people to refrain from spreading misinformation.

Ratan Tata clarified by saying, “I am aware of recent rumors circulating regarding my health and want to assure everyone that these claims are unfounded. I am currently undergoing medical check-ups due to my age and related medical conditions. There is no cause for concern. I remain in good spirits and request that the public and media respect refrain from spreading misinformation.”

Ratan Tata Hospitalised at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital

According to initial reports, Ratan Tata was rushed to Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital in the wee hours of October 7th 2024 following a drop in blood pressure.

As per sources, Ratan Tata was rushed to the hospital at around 12.30-1am in a critical condition. His blood pressure had drastically fallen. He had to be immediately admitted to the ICU, where a team of intensivists, under the leadership of well-known cardiologist Dr Sharukh Aspi Golwalla, is monitoring his condition.
