BSF jawan killed, 1 injured in firing by Bangladeshi troops
A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was killed and another injured on Thursday after a Bangladeshi border guard fired from his AK-47 rifle.

A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan was killed and ar injured on Thursday after a Bangleshi border guard fired from his AK-47 rifle during a 'flag meeting' along International border of two countries in West Bengal, officials said.
"apparent high handedness" of Border Guard Banglesh (BGB) troops has led to tension between two sides with BSF chief V K Johri calling up his counterpart Major General Shafeenul Islam over a hotline. BGB Director-General has assured a thorough probe of incident, y said.

'One-off incident'

Officials said incident took place under Kakmarichar border post of BSF in Murshidab district about 9 am when a force party approached BGB personnel, standing at a "char" or a riverine in middle of Pma river, to resolve an issue linked to Indian fishermen. y said trouble started when BGB personnel held three Indian fishermen who were allowed by BSF to fish within International Border, that runs through middle of 3-km-wide Pma river. river offers a rich catch of hilsa fish.

Aggressive behavior of Bangleshi personnel
A BGB team n allowed two fishermen to go and inform BSF that third person has been held by m and that was when BSF post commander of 117th battalion, a sub-inspector, took a six-member party on a motor-boat to resolve issue. A BGB jawan identified as Sayed fired from behind when six-member BSF party started to return back on ir motor-boat after seeing "aggressiveness" of Bangleshi personnel.
BGB trooper, y said, fired from his AK-47 rifle and shot BSF he constable Vijay Bhan Singh on his he, while constable Rajvir Yav sustained bullet injury on his hand. BSF jawan died on boat itself and injured constable Yav deftly saved boat from drowning and brought it safely to Indian side.
