BSP keen on reviving supporters for upcoming 2019 Elections
The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) will now start focusing on its traditional supporters in the state of Maharashtra, Haryana and Jharkhand for upcoming elections

"Moreover, re are new Ambedkarite parties which compete with BSP in different states. challenge for BSP, particularly in Maharashtra, is to retain its old base.” BSP party said.

BSP's vote-share falls
Mayawati-led party won 10 seats in Lok Sabha elections of 2019 as compared to winning thing in 2014. Bahujan Samaj Party has been garnering low votes even in Uttar Pradesh Assembly, from a high of 206 seats in 2007 to just 19 seats in 2017 elections. BSP, which has tried to set up a base for itself in Maharashtra for almost two decades, saw its vote-share in state slipping below 1% mark in recent 2019 Lok Sabha polls, far less than it had achieved five years ago. party wants to perform well in assembly polls, and claims that it is in process of selecting candidates for seats in Vidarbha region and has received good support. Bahujan Samaj Party members have also started touring various regions of Haryana.

PM Modi begins campaign for Haryana Polls
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Haryana's Rohtak on September 8, ahead of upcoming assembly elections in state. Rohtak rally would be culmination of Chief Minister Mahar Lal Khattar's 'Jan Ashirwad Yatra', which began last month in Kalka. BJP party chose to hold rally in Rohtak, which is considered to be bastion of veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. He also laid foundation stone for several development projects during Haryana campaign.

Just like Haryana elections, Legislative Assembly elections for Maharashtra are also coming up in October. All political parties are preparing for elections. current CM of Maharashtra BJP's Devendra Fadnavis has been in power since 2014. And from Congress party, Balasaheb Thorat has been named President for Maharashtra elections, he replaced Ashok Chavan for elections.
