BSP: The RSS vision of India is contradictory to BR Ambedkar's vision

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has claimed that Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's (RSS) vision of India is contrary to BR Ambedkar's vision of the nation. On Saturday, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said that RSS seeks to change the entire society and not just Hindus, to transform the society. Bhagwat had stressed that it is essential to organise the society as a whole and all sections must move together.

'RSS wants to build India as Hindu Rashtra'

BSP spokesperson Sudhindra Bhadoria told news agency ANI, "RSS vision of India is contradictory to the vision of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. The RSS vision has been spelt out by M. S. Golwalkar in his book 'Bunch of Thought' where he mentioned that RSS wants to build India as a Hindu Rashtra." He further added, "While B R Ambedkar who is the icon of the entire nation wanted to build India as per the Constitution of India which provides equality, freedom, and democracy, and a humanitarian social order."

Sudhindra Bhadoria said that he thinks in the past 5-6 years since BJP has been in power, lynchings have taken place and atrocities are committed on the Dalits. He continued and said that there are cases of violence against women and RSS has not condemned all this. BSP National Spokesperson said, "I think the people of this country eventually want India based on Ambedkar's dream".

RSS does not aim to be a dominant Hindu institution

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday addressed the national meet of Akhil Bharatiya Karyakarini Mandal in Bhubaneshwar. In his address, he spoke about the uniqueness of RSS and asserted that the Sangh does not aim to be a dominant Hindu institution but instead aims to take forward all the institutions of the society together. Bhagwat said that Sangh did not have any hierarchy even though it persists as an institution and that there is no power of authority in the Sangh to determine if anyone is at greater position or smaller one. He also added that there is no other institution like the RSS in the entire world and he would love to see another similar institution exist but there is not any.
