During Supreme Court's proceedings on plea filed by NCP-Congress-Shiv Sena on Monday, a lighter yet meaningful moment was witnessed as Solicitor General Tushar Mehta me a remark on NCP-Congress-Shiv Sena alliance's representation in top court.

Amid pitched arguments where Tushar Mehta h represented Maharashtra Goverr's Secretary, Mukul Rohatgi h represented Devendra Fnavis, Maninder Singh h represented Ajit Pawar; while Kapil Sibal, Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Devdatt Kamat h appeared for Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena, it was Rohatgi who remarked on how re were multiple counsels appearing for Congress-Shiv Sena-NCP alliance, on same petition.

In response to this, SG Tushar Mehta jovially remarked that three parties couldn't forge consensus even on a lawyer, re were three of m arguing case.

Supreme Court proceedings

During proceedings, SG Mehta produced letter from vember 22 by NCP leer Ajit Pawar to Goverr Bhagat Singh Koshyari that contained signatures of 54 NCP MLAs. Mehta h furr said Goverr Koshyari waited since October 24 till vember 9 but party came forward to form government. Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena, meanwhile, tabled affidavits of 154 MLAs, but n withdrew. While Abhishek Manu Singhvi sought a floor test immediately, Mukul Rohatgi sought more time to table an affidavit regarding how Maharashtra government was formed, and argued that 7 days would be a more apt time-frame to hold floor-test.

Rejecting talks of any seat-sharing agreement between Shiv Sena and NCP, sources state that a senior Shiv Sena leer on Monday, vember 25, has denied reports of any agreement on 50-50 sharing on post of Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Furrmore, senior leer has stated that Ajit Pawar will t be me Chief Minister if he returns back to camp. senior leer furr stated that for w, this is t even on nda as prime nda for Shiv Sena is to deal with present political situation in Maharashtra. NCP sources state that Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar is being lured back to NCP camp by offering him post of Chief Minister. source ds that NCP will strike a 2.5 year deal for post of CM with Shiv Sena. Sources furr ded that Chhagan Bhujbal and Jayant Patil have reportedly reached Deputy CM Ajit Pawar with this offer.

Ajit Pawar's decision

In midst of a Pawar power play, sources have informed that Ajit Pawar rebelled over position of Deputy Chief Minister. NCP's Baramati MLA was reportedly angry with NCP chief and his uncle, Shar Pawar over post of Deputy Chief Minister, hence sidestepped his party to back BJP's Devendra Fnavis-led government. Ajit Pawar was reported of understanding that NCP chief was in favour of Jayant Patil over him for post of Deputy Chief Minister. On Saturday, vember 23, amidst political turbulence, Shar Pawar removed Ajit as NCP legislative party chief and replaced him with Jayant Patil. While BJP claims that entire NCP legislative party has consented to be a part of government, NCP supremo Shar Pawar clarified that he did t endorse decision of Ajit Pawar. Ajit Pawar has since remained firm on being Deputy CM in alliance with BJP, but has also stated that he remains a NCP leer and has urged party to be patient.
