Amidst the ongoing spat between, Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi and Puducherry Chief Minister (CM) V Narayanaswamy, Bedi hit back at the CM for calling her a 'demon'. LG Bedi on Saturday called out CM Narayanswamy and said that calling her a 'demon' was a case of mistaken identity and offered to help identify 'many real demons'. This comes after Narayanswamy while addressing a meeting at Puducherry on Thursday said, "Ministers and MLAs are working hard day and night, they've made a demon/ghost to sit here. She stops every scheme. The free rice scheme is for the poor. She intervened and stopped it. I'll meet officials to get fund for Puducherry, she will go meet them and stop the fund."

"The real demons in Puducherry are land grabbers and extorters," says Bedi
In response to the remark by the CM Narayanswamy, Bedi said, "Calling me a demon may be a case of your mistaken identity. The real demons in Puducherry are the land grabbers and extorters and I can help you identify them. They threaten the senior citizens of Puducherry for grabbing their properties. Chief Minister Narayanswamy at an event of Friday had slammed Bedi again and blamed her for creating barriers in the implementation of Government schemes. "Me and my cabinet of ministers, we work 24 hours for the welfare of people to give them good things but a demon has been put here who interrupts our work," Narayanswamy said.

The CM-LG spat
The conflict between the Congress government in Puducherry and Lieutenant Governor (L-G) Kiran Bedi is not something new. Ever since Kiran Bedi took charge as LG of Puducherry in May 2016 and V Narayanasamy assumed office in June 2016, the tussle has been ongoing. Both of them have been in loggerheads in many of the issues including the administrative, governance and the policy decisions of Puducherry. Earlier on October 12, Puducherry Health and Tourism Minister Malladi Krishna Rao had accused LG Bedi of delaying the implementation of developmental schemes for Yanam region, an enclave of Puducherry in Andhra Pradesh.
