Visuals of the Calcutta Police entering the metro stations in Kolkata and beating up passengers amid the Nabanna Protest have emerged.
This visual shows how the cops, in their white uniform are beating up a passenger at a metro station with hockey sticks as other passengers stand there, watching in shock.
Passengers at Kolkata Metro Station Dragged on Floor by Calcutta Police
Another video, from one of the metro stations in Kolkata has emerged where a passenger is being dragged on the floor by the Kolkata cops.
The Calcutta Police had unleashed brutal violence on the protestors of Nabanna Abhijan yesterday and it included lathi charge, tear gas shells and water cannons.
BJP Calls for Bengal Bandh Today
Following the violence by the cops on the protestors, BJP called for a 12-hour Bengal Bandh today from 6 am to 6 pm.
Sukanta Majumdar, the Union Minister and West Bengal BJP President said on Tuesday, “West Bengal BJP calls a 12-hour West Bengal bandh tomorrow.”
The BJP also demanded presidential rule and accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of being responsible for the violence during the student protests earlier in the day.
