Centre holds meeting with Punjab farmers in New Delhi, reassures them over Farm Laws
Following its promise to hold a discussion on the contentious Farm Laws, the Centre held a meeting with farmers from Punjab at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.

Following its promise to hold a discussion on contentious Farm Laws, Centre on Friday held a meeting with farmers from Punjab at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. Union Minister of Railways Piyush Goyal and Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar who were heing meeting hoped that it would provide an opportunity to farmers to 'clear ir doubts' so that y could celebrate festive season without worries.
"We will talk to farmers open-heartedly and try to clear ir doubts, we hope y will soon return back to ir work and celebrate festival session, I believe that farmers of Punjab will welcome change and get benefit for it (new farm laws)," said Piyush Goyal before meeting.

Punjab CM requests farmers to stop protests
After Centre promised to hold a discussion with farmers on vember 13, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh h asked farmer unions to repeal ir 'Rail Roko Andolan'. Issuing a statement last week, Amarinder Singh requested farmers to completely lift ir rail blocke, asking farmers to allow all passenger trains to pass through state once again.

Chief Minister also urged farmers to take te of Centre’s move to hold talks with m, ding that continuing 'Rail Roko Andolan' any furr would inconvenience lakhs of people including soldiers who would be stranded, unable to come home for Diwali.
Punjab farmers have been observing 'Rail Roko Andolan' against Farm Laws passed by central government in September. Amid protests, Railways Ministry has suspended goods railway services, stating that y are rey to resume service as soon as state government ensures m safety at tracks.
