Centre to Deploy 50 Additional CAPF Units Amid Rising Violence in Manipur

Manipur Violence: As tension in violence-hit Manipur escalated, Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level meeting on Monday. Home Ministry decided to intensify its security deployment in state with Centre dispatching an ditional 50 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) to state.

This comes after an earlier deployment of 20 companies, bringing total to 70 CAPF units now being mobilised to ensure law and order in state.
