Nashik: A new criminal group, dubbed the 'Chaddi Baniyan' gang, has emerged in Malegaon, Nashik, Maharashtra. This gang recently broke into both a home and a college, making off with nearly 70 grams of gold valued at around 5 lakhs, as well as a haul of bananas.

CCTV footage captured the thieves in action, showing them dressed in trunks and vests during the break-in.

The 'Chaddi Baniyan' gang, known for committing crimes while wearing underwear and often wielding sharp weapons to intimidate their victims, has previously struck in various regions across the country. It remains unclear whether these different robberies are linked or if the unique attire is simply a tactic to confuse investigators.

This recent crime comes on the heels of thefts by the 'Gown Gang,' which targets residential neighborhoods while dressed in women's gowns. Last week, this gang also stole from donation boxes in local temples. CCTV footage from those incidents shows gang members in gowns and armed with sharp weapons.

The 'Gown Gang' has left residents on edge, with many calling for urgent police action to address the surge in such crimes.
