Chakka Jam: Punjab Farmers to Hold Protest Today Over Paddy Procurement, Other Demands

Chandigarh: Farmers in Punjab will hold a one-day protest at various places on Saturday (October 26) against government pressing several demands including timely procurement of pdy. As part of ir protest, farmers will also be blocking ros, news agency PTI reported.

Surjeet Singh Phul, Chairman of Bhartiya Kisan Union (Krantikari) Punjab told ANI, "On October 26, we will stage a ro blocke at four key points, kicking off at 1 pm."

As per Kisan Union leer, "chakka jam" will be strategically organised at one location each in Sangrur, Moga districts, Phagwara and Batala districts and is set to continue indefinitely if need arises.

Phul ded that both forums will do a ro blocke at 4 points in Punjab and stage a "chakka jam" for an indefinite period.
