Thane: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fnavis has said Shiv Sena (UBT) he Uddhav Thackeray was trying to divert attention by needlessly protesting against checking of his bags by poll officials and was "seeking votes by whining".

Thackeray's frustration was showing, Fnavis said on Tuesday while campaigning for ruling Mahayuti's candidate Sulabha Ganpat Gaikw in Kalyan East in Thane district ahe of vember 20 Maharashtra assembly polls.
"What is wrong with checking bags? We h our bags checked during campaigning, and re was need for this level of frustration," deputy CM said, ding that election officials followed same procedures with his campaign team too.

Lacking pressing topics, Thackeray is w "seeking votes by whining", he said.
For second consecutive day, Thackeray claimed his bags were inspected by election authorities on Tuesday after he arrived in Latur district to campaign.

Fnavis, meanwhile, also attacked opposition Maha Vikas Aghi coalition, pointing out that some of its allies moved high court against Lki Bahin Yojana for providing financial assistance to women.

"When Uddhav Thackeray's government was in power, Maharashtra 's industrial sector was lagging behind. But w, under our government, Maharashtra has outpaced Karnataka and Gujarat , securing 52 per cent of total industrial investment in country this year," he said.
