New Delhi: All schools across Delhi and ida will remain closed on Thursday (vember 7) due to Chhath Puja.

Delhi government, led by Aam Ami Party in a tice anunced public holiday.   Delhi government has declared a holiday for all educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and universities, on vember 7.

"Chhat Pooja is an important festival for people of NCT of Delhi. Accordingly, Government of NCT of Delhi has decided to declare 7th vember 2024 as a Public Holiday on account of 'Chhat Pooja'," Delhi Chief Minister Atishi said in a letter to Chief Secretary.

Meanwhile, for ida, an visory was released.

"As per directive received at 8:00 pm today, from Basic Shiksha hikari Office, vember 7, 2024, has been declared a holiday for schools on account of Chhath Puja," an visory of a ida school.

Officials asserted that order covers all recognised schools affiliated with different boards, including CBSE , ICSE, IB, and UP Board.

According to media reports, all government and private schools from nursery to 8th gre in Luckw and Ghaziab will also remain closed on vember 7.

Chhath is a Hindu festival primarily celebrated in Bihar and eastern Uttar Presh. This four-day festival hors Sun God and involves fasting, sacred bathing, and meditation while standing in water. auspicious celebration of Chhath Puja commenced on Tuesday.
