Chhattisgarh Encounter: 31 Maoist Bodies Recovered, Heavy Ammunition Seized as Search Op Intensifies

Raipur: A total of 31 Naxalite bodies have been recovered so far in the ongoing encounter Chhattisgarh  ’s Dantewada and Narayanpur district border, police said on Friday.

The search operation is continuing, and additional reinforcements from the CRPF and DRG have been deployed. Various weapons, including LMG Rifles, AK-47s, SLR Rifles, INSAS Rifles, and .303 Calibre Rifles, have been recovered. One DRG jawan is injured but is out of danger, according to Bastar IG P Sundarraj.

Police officials said that the encounter is currently going on at the border area of Dantewada and Narayanpur and the intermittent firing is coming from both sides. 

In a recent development in the ongoing battle against Naxalism, Union Home Minister Amit Shah held discussions with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai late last night.

The conversation between Amit Shah and CM Vishnu Deo Sai centered on the details of the encounter.  

As per the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Home Minister praised the efforts of the state police and central forces involved in the operation, expressing appreciation for their commitment to eradicating Naxal influence from the region.
