Chief of Indian Army Staff General MM Naravane to visit United Kingdom & Italy for 2 days
Indian Army chief General MM Naravane will embark on an official visit to the United Kingdom (UK) and Italy between July 5 and July 8, to meet his counterparts.

Indian Army chief General MM Naravane will embark on an official visit to United Kingdom (UK) and Italy between July 5 and July 8, during which he will be meeting his counterparts and senior military leership of se countries. highlight of visit will be General Naravane’s inauguration of Indian Army Memorial in famous town of Cassi, Italy.
In Battle of Monte Cassi during World War II, over 5,000 Indian soldiers laid down ir lives while fighting to save Italy from fascist forces. Nearly 50,000 Indians were enlisted for Italy’s liberation between September 1943 and April 1945.

General MM Naravane to visit UK & Italy
Stating that both UK and Italy are important partners for India in field of defence, healthcare, aero, education, clean techlogy, renewable energy and information and communication techlogy among ors, officials informed that Naravane's visit to UK is scheduled for 2 days. During his visit, chief of Indian Army will interact with British chief of Defence Staff, Minister of State for Defence and or dignitaries.
Officials said during second leg of his tour, Army Chief will be holding important discussions with Chief of Defence Staff and Chief of Staff of Italian Army on July 7 and 8. ditionally, COAS will also inaugurate Indian Army Memorial and will be briefed at Italian Army’s Counter IED Centre of Excellence at Cecchingola, Rome, officials said.

se visits are part of military diplomacy that marks an ongoing process in India’s outreach to important partner countries and signals India’s increasing importance in wider global community as a significant player and a net security provider in Indo-Pacific.
India and United Kingdom have a Strategic Partnership since 2004 and enjoy a multi-faceted relationship spanning across tre and ecomy, health, science & techlogy, defence & security, people-to-people relations, climate change and close cooperation on multilateral issues.

India and Italy maintain strong bonds based on mutual respect for democracy, human rights and sovereignty. Italian defence firms have expressed keen interest in taking a proactive part in “Make in India” initiative of Indian government. Italy has also pushed for a central role for India in European Union’s Indo-Pacific Initiative.
