Child marriage prevented in Chittorgarh

authorities prevented marriage of a 14-year-old girl, who complained on a helpline in Rajasthan’s Chittorgarh district, just days before proposed ceremony.

girl, a Class 9 student, was scheduled to be married off on December 11. Bi Sri SHO Kailash Chandra said y me family sign a bond that y will not marry off girl till she attains permissible age of legal marriage.

SHO said a police team was sent to her residence and girl, along with her parents and grandfar, was taken to SDM’s office, where y signed bond under Prohibition of Child Marriage Act.
