Chinese Army used sticks, clubs with barbed wires during stand-off in Ladakh

China's People's Liberation Army reportedly behaved like an “unprofessional army” during the stand-off in the Pangong Tso lake area in Eastern Ladakh sector.

Amid escalating tension at Line of Actual Control (LAC), Chinese troops reportedly behaved like an “unprofessional army” during stand-off in Pangong Tso lake area in Eastern Lakh sector. According to media reports, soldiers of China’s People's Liberation Army (PLA) used stones, sticks, and clubs with barbed wires during face-off with Indian security forces.

According to ANI’s sources in Indian Army, ir behaviour was similar to stone-pelters in Kashmir valley who use stones to target Indian security forces. y reportedly behaved like “typical bullies” with heavy troops deployment on Chinese side and showed undue aggression towards Indian soldiers.

“Contrary to Chinese behaviour, Indian side never uses such tactics to push back Chinese from areas under us except for mir shoving and pushing incidents that keep taking place almost round year,” sources told ANI.

Indian Army has also increased its presence to deter PLA from carrying out transgressions in or areas. heightened tension along border has been increasing with instances of a face-off between Indian and Chinese army being reported along borderlines in Lakh and Sikkim as well.

Defence Minister reviews situation

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh chaired a meeting on May 26 to review situation along Line of Actual Control (LAC) and Lakh sector amid standoff with China. Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, three Service chiefs and senior officials of Ministry of Defence participated in this meeting which lasted for more than 60 minutes.

Earlier, Chief of Army Staff General MM Naravane observed that such stand-offs occur because LAC is t well defined. He ded that re was thing new in face-offs that took place in Eastern Lakh and Sikkim. Army Chief asserted that India would deal with situation as per protocols and strategic guidelines.
