The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Wednesday welcomed a new member in its K9 canine squad. The "newest and highly" trained canine joined the CISF unit, Aviation Security Group (ASG) at the Hyderabad Airport. The CISF shared the pictures on Twitter.

As per the CISF website, the force found its inception in 1969 with a modest beginning. It comprised of three battalions that provided integrated security cover to the Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). In the initial years, the PSUs occupied "commanding heights" of the economy. The CISF is currently occupied with providing security detail to installations like space establishments, nuclear installations, airports, seaports, power plants, sensitive Government buildings and ever heritage monuments. Apart from this, other crucial responsibilities include handling security at Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, VIP Security, Disaster Management and establishment of a Formed Police Unit (FPU) of the UN at Haiti.
CISF receives praise from young girl
The CISF is commended by many for their duty. Similarly, on Monday, a young girl lauded the force and presented the CISF personnel stationed at Chandni Chowk station in Delhi with a hand-made Diwali card. In the card, the girl spoke about how CISF personnel are on duty even during the festivals while people spend time with their families and loved ones. Touched by the kind gesture, the personnel shared the photo of the letter on the official Twitter account of CISF and called it “heartwarming”.
CISF to be permanently deployed at Baglihar Dam in J&K
The CISF will see a permanent deployment at the Baglihar Dam in Jammu and Kashmir. Over 300 highly trained personnel are scheduled to be placed at one of the most sensitive hydroelectric plants. The CISF forces will be headed by a Commandant rank officer and will keep a vigil at the plant.
