CM Kejriwal announces relief, Delhi Govt to sell onions at Rs. 24/kg

Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal has anunced a drop in prices of onion at a press conference on Monday. CM said that onions will be procured and will be sold at Rs. 24 through mobile vans. Kejriwal also ded that tenders for supplying onions have been floated. He went ahe to anunce 'Mukhya Mantri Street Light Yojana' which will be implemented in city to end dark spots in national capital. Under this plan, Arvind Kejriwal has said that 2.1 lakh street lights will be installed in Delhi which will be controlled by sunlight sensor.

'Onion Prices on High'

price drop relief is much needed by citizens of Delhi who have seen onion cost sky-rocket due to monsoon. This price crisis was t only witnessed in national capital but also in or States as well. cost climbed to Rs. 70-80 per kg in Delhi which has been wreaking havoc for citizens. Sources said that supply of onion has been disrupted due to excessive rains increasing retail prices. Centre could impose stock limits on onion trers as retail prices have shot up to Rs. 70-80 per kg. However, government has taken several measures to arrest this rise in cost of onion in Delhi and or parts of country.

New freebie by Kejriwal

Arvind Kejriwal on September 18 anunced that fees of Rs. 3.14 lakh for CBSE students appearing for 10th and 12th standard examinations will be paid by Delhi Government. This anuncement comes after Government declared various ‘freebies’ for Delhi like water bill waiver, free metro for women, free wifi, etc. Kejriwal h also urged Delhi residents to install water metres in houses to avail water bill waiver scheme. popular freebie was electricity bill waiver which claimed that people do t have to pay electricity bills with power consumption exceeding 200 units.
