CM Yogi Pushes For Revamping Kashi, Mathura At Ayodhya's Record-Breaking Deepotsav
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath asserted that similar developments should occur in Kashi and Mathura by 2047, coinciding with India’s centenary of independence

Ayodhya: Uttar Presh's Ayodhya on Wednesday transformed into a dazzling spectacle, illuminated by over 25 lakh diyas along Saryu River during eighth edition of Deepotsav, first ever since inauguration of Ram Mandir , held on eve of Diwali . This year’s celebrations marked first Deepotsav since consecration of Ram Lalla temple on January 22. Uttar Presh Chief Minister Yogi ityanath led festivities, joined by his cabinet colleagues and Union Tourism and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
During celebrations, ityanath highlighted significance of Ayodhya's transformation as evidence of "double-engine government" fulfilling its promises. He asserted that similar developments should occur in Kashi and Mathura by 2047, coinciding with India’s centenary of independence. Chief Minister criticized opposition for obstructing government’s growth agenda, vowing that se "barriers" would be overcome. He framed Ayodhya’s resurgence as a pivotal step in Prime Minister Narendra Modi 's vision for vancing heritage of Sanatan Dharma.

Cultural Extravaganza and Community Participation
entire city was orned with lights, with temples, streets, and homes riating festive cheer. In dition to record-setting display of lamps, event also saw 1,121 devotees performing an "aarti" simultaneously. Cultural performances showcased diverse folk tritions from various Indian states, enriching Deepotsav experience. grand event was supported by over 30,000 volunteers, illustrating a community united in celebration. growth of Deepotsav has been remarkable, with lamp displays rising from 171,000 in 2017 to over 2.5 million in 2024, setting new Guinness World Records for both largest oil lamp display and highest number of people performing an "aarti" toger.
