COAS General Bipin Rawat interacts with religious teachers from J&K

COASf, General Bipin Rawat on Tuesday interacted with a group of multi-religion religious teachers from former militancy-hit areas of Reasi and Rajouri

Chief of Army Staff, General Bipin Rawat on Tuesday, interacted with a group of multi-religion religious teachers from former militancy-hit areas of Reasi and Rajouri on vember 2019, who is on a tour to rth India as part of Operation Sadbhavana. COAS Rawat spoke to religious teachers and assured m that bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir will pave way for development. He also said that since people in valley believe se religious teachers, it is really important that teachers preach good teachings to youth of Kashmir.

"Centre will address all issues," says Gen Bipin Rawat

General Bip Rawat said, "Education and healthcare is a priority and Army will help in development of se aspects. Government's main aim behind bifurcation of Kashmir is to provide facilities to people of Kashmir of which y have been deprived of so far. Centre will address all issues of even remote areas in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh." COAS also mentioned that after a bit of training, it will also start recruitment of youth in Indian Army. "I am very happy that your group consists of preachers of all religions including maulvis and pandits. Kashmir is 'heaven on earth,' everyone should live in peace in Kashmir. You can also give recommendations to 60 RR Batallion and we will surely think over it and take action if possible," Gen Bipin Rawat added.

Operation Sadbhavana

religious teachers represent major religions in valley and included 15 Maulvis, four Pandits and two Granthis. This capacity-building tour, first of its kind, showcases secularism and unity of Kashmiris working towards development of region. General Rawat exhorted teachers to work towards maintaining peace in region and promised full support to m towards fulfilling ir local requirements. Indian Army’s stand reflects core values of nation and this initiative is guided by this idea.
