Coimbatore: Detective dog Rambo dies due to illness

Retired police detective dog Rambo passed away in Coimbatore due to age-related illness. Rambo, a male Dobermann was deployed in explosives detection team

10-year-old retired police detective dog Rambo passed away in Coimbatore on Friday, December 6, due to -related illness. Rambo, a male Dobermann was born in 2009 and was deployed in explosives detection team. He belonged to Detective Dog Squ of Coimbatore. police bought dog in 2010, he was trained for a year and retired from service in April last year.

Rambo h worked on 621 calls on duty, police said.  Dobermann has two awards to its name. He secured third place in All India Breeds Championship Dog Show at Thrissur, Kerala in 2010 and second place in Coimbatore Kennel Club All Breeds Championship Dog Show. Rambo was mitted to Coimbatore Poly Veterinary Hospital in vember for treatment, where he died.

A baby giraffe that was befriended by a dog after it was abandoned in wild has died, a South African animal orphan said Friday. “Our team is heartbroken,” orphan said. Jazz giraffe collapsed after haemorrhaging in brain, Rhi Orphan said in a Facebook post.

“ last two days before we lost him, Jazz started looking unstable on his legs and very dull, almost like he wasn’t registering everything,” it said. “He suddenly collapsed and we could see blood starting to pool back into his eyes.”

In its farewell to giraffe, orphan said that “You have taught us so much in last three weeks and we will remember you fondly.” giraffe was buried close to orphan, van Deventer said.
