Coimbatore: A bemusing incident from Coimbatore has come to light where an engineering student jumped off the fourth floor of his hostel because he thought he had superpowers and that he could fly.

In a shocking incident reported in Coimbatore's Myleripalayam, an engineering student aged 20 jumped off the fourth floor of his hostel. The student did not take this step to commit suicide but because he allegedly though that he had superpowers and that he could fly in the sky. 

According to police, 20-year-old A Prabhu from Mekkur village near Perundurai in Erode district, a third year student of BTech (Artificial Intelligence and Data Science), suddenly jumped off the hostel building while chatting with his inmates.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the student had reportedly told his inmates at the hostel a few days ago, that he had superpowers in him, he could jump off any building and was also not affected by black magic.

As per reports, the student luckily did not lose his life but suffered serious injuries - he had multiple fractures in his legs, arms and other parts of the body. He has been admitted to a private hospital and is undergoing treatment.
