Congress spins Opposition's boycott of Constitution Day; now claims it was excluded
After boycotting Constitution Day celebrations in Parliament, Congress leader Anand Sharma calls it a program by BJP govt in which the Oppn has no voice

After boycotting Constitution Day celebrations in Parliament on Tuesday, Congress leer Anand Sharma slammed BJP government and said that it is a program initiated by current government in which Opposition is not allowed to raise ir voice. Sharma also said that not allowing Opposition to voice its opinion is against very ethos of democracy. Earlier in day, Congress party carried out demonstrations and protests across country against political developments in Maharashtra.

"What kind of democracy is this where Opposition has no role?"
While speaking to media on Tuesday, Sharma said, "It is Modi government that started 'Constitution Day.' What kind of democracy is this where Opposition has no role and only President, Prime Minister, Vice President, and Speaker of Lok Sabha have a voice? This is against Constitution. Constitution does not say that only government programs should be conducted."
Furrmore, Sharma ded, "In Constitution, Opposition and or political parties are also included as a part of legislative process along with government. How can it be called a Parliamentary democracy, if opposition is only excluded from a government program."

Senior Congress leers including Rahul Gandhi, Ghulam Nabi Az, AK Antony among ors boycotted joint-session and protested outside Parliament premises in front of Ambedkar Statue opposing government formation in Maharashtra by BJP. joint session of Parliament, on occasion of Constitution Day was also dressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Constitution of India
Samvidhan or Indian Constitution is supreme law in India and it lays down framework to uphold structures, duties, political codes, procedures and powers to be followed by various bodies and institutions in country. Constitution which was opted by Union of India on January 26, 1950, was completely drafted on November 26, 1949. Indian Constitution drafted by a Constituent Assembly and not a Parliamentary Assembly is longest written constitution in world. Chairman of Constitution drafting committee Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar is also referred to as its chief architect.
