'NC Must Issue Clarification on Kharge's Remark'

"This government has been given a huge mandate by people. y have reposed huge faith in it. (Article) 370 is an emotional issue for people of J-K, and people's sentiments are connected to it," Mufti told reporters in Beerwah area of central Kashmir's Budgam district.

Here's What Congress President said on Article 370

“[Union minister Amit Shah] claims Congress wants to bring back Article 370, but who in Congress has ever stated this? Parliament has settled this issue. If BJP truly believes it, let m say it openly in Kashmir now that elections are over,” Kharge said at a press conference in Pune.

In this regard, Mufti said that resolution passed by ruling National Conference (NC) in Jammu and Kashmir assembly, which calls on Centre to devise a mechanism for restoring special status of former state, is unclear and vague regarding restoration of Article 370.

" NC and Congress government should clarify. PDP h also said that resolution was not clear (on Article 370) and it was mentioned vaguely. This government has 50 members, y should have said this while holding ir he high," she ded.

former J-K chief minister stated that resolution should have condemned actions taken on August 5, 2019, when Centre revoked Article 370.

"But, y did not. n y mentioned (Article) 370 in such a way that it gave an impression that y were ashamed. It seemed a total surrender.

"n Congress saying that resolution was for statehood and not for (Article) 370, has created a lot of questions and apprehensions in minds of people. So, government should clarify it," Mebhooba said.
