Congress levels corruption charges against Yediyurappa & his kin, demands his resignation

On Wednesday, Congress leaders demanded Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa's resignation owing to the corruption allegations against him and his family members.

dressing a press conference in Bengaluru on Wednesday, Congress leers demanded Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa's resignation owing to corruption allegations against him and his family members. Flanked by Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar and Leer of Opposition Siddaramaiah, party General Secretary Randeep Surjewala alleged corruption in Bangalore Development Authority project worth Rs.666.22 crore for construction of apartments. He sought a time-bound and independent probe by a sitting Supreme Court judge or by Karnataka High Court Chief Justice himself with assistance of an SIT.

Congress General Secretary Randeep Surjewala remarked, "Mahatma Gandhi always said that misgovernance and corruption always go toger. state of Karnataka is fast becoming a combination of two under Yediyurappa government. deafening ise of corruption allegations has once again engulfed Yediyurappa government in state. I have to compliment media and public-spirited citizens for y have released important documentation and information in public domain."

Surjewala hinted that BDA Commissioner h allegedly taken an Rs.12 crore bribe from contractor in name of Karnataka CM and his son Vijayendra. Moreover, he questioned CM on absence of a formal complaint against contractor and BDA Commissioner. According to him, contract should have been cancelled as allegation of bribery h been disclosed.

He ded that WhatsApp conversations highlighted alleged transfer of cash from contractor to Yediyurappa's grandson Shashidhar Mari. Moreover, Surjewala also cast aspersion over role of CM's son-in-law Virupakshappa Mari in entire bribery case. Surjewala opined that this was a clear case of money laundering.
