Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan and Congress leer Sachin Pilot on Monday said that Citizenship (Amendment) Bill is against Constitution of country. "We oppose this amendment because it is against Constitution. citizenship issue is being politicised. re is more political motivation behind government's move than will to serve people of country," said Pilot while speaking to news ncy ANI in Jaipur. Congress leer said that BJP is bringing amendment because its ecomic policies have failed.
CAB passed in Lok Sabha
In a late-night sitting on Monday, Lok Sabha passed contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill amidst a vote of 311 in its favour and 80 against it out of 391 members who were present and voting. next challenge for union government will w be a pass through Rajya Sabha where BJP led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government is currently in mirity and will be banking on support by like-minded parties to push through legislation.

Opposition calls CAB 'unconstitutional'
Earlier on Monday, discussion over Bill led to a tussle between BJP and opposition parties and led by Congress, when it alleged that Bill was against Muslims in India. Leer of Congress in Lok Sabha hir Ranjan Chowdhury said bill was thing but legislation targeted at mirities of India. CPI (M) Chief Sitaram Yechury has said that this Bill is "unconstitutional and divides people of country"
CAB seeks to grant Indian citizenship to n-Muslim refugees from Pakistan, Banglesh and Afghanistan. Through this bill, Indian citizenship will be provided to members of Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christian communities, who have come from three countries to India till December 31, 2014.
