Cop Demands iPhone 16 as Bribe, Caught Red-Handed In Ahmedabad

Ahmedab: Gujarat Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a police inspector for for allegedly demanding and accepting an iPhone 16 Pro from a fuel dealer near Ahmedab, an official statement said on Friday. 

accused has been identified as Dinesh Kubavat who is attached to Marine police station at Dholai port in Navsari district. 

According to officials, cop demanded iPhone 16 Pro worth around Rs 1.44 Lakh.

"He was caught red-handed while accepting iPhone 16 Pro device from complainant, who is a licensed dealer of Light Diesel Oil (LDO) and sells fuel to boat owners at Dholai port," police said.

accused police official in his recent meeting with fuel dealer h threatened that his business would be shut if did not give a bribe. 

"Kubavat h recently asked dealer to meet him at Marine police station with licence and or documents related to his business. During meeting, he threatened complainant that his business would be shut if he did not give a bribe. Navsari unit of ACB held him in a trap laid in his police station chamber," official said.

A case has been registered and furr investigation is underway, police said. 

Meanwhile. reeling under huge debt, a CRPF constable on November 10 kidnapped an eight-year-old boy who was living in neighborhood for ransom and ended up killing kid as he tried to raise an alarm. 

accused has been identified as Shailendra Rajput. 

According to police, Rajput was posted in Mhya Presh ’s Gwalior.

Rajput h lost Rs 16 lakh in stock market and to just losses he took a massive loan. He abducted child and demanded a ransom of Rs 5 lakh to settle his debts.
