Winding up its two-day visit to state during which health ministry team inspected some containment zones and dedicated COVID-19 hospitals in Patna and Gaya, team assured all assistance to state in fighting virus, spreing fast in Bihar.

As per latest official count, Bihar has a total of 27,455 confirmed coronavirus cases while death toll stands at 187. A total of 17,535 patients have recovered.

It enquired about steps being taken by district ministration to contain spre of contagion and also visited one of containment zones at G B Ro, official sources said.

ANMCH Superintendent Dr Harish Chandra Hari said central team inspected its various departments.
It sought to kw about treatment and medical facilities and or arrangements provided to patients, Dr Hari said, ding y also gave necessary instructions.

Dr Hari said team expressed apprehensions that "COVID cases could furr rise in days to come in Bihar and hence re should be reiness and preparedness in vance to deal with situation. Necessary action should be taken to contain spre of disease." Of 50 COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment at ANMCH, Gaya, nine are in serious condition, ANMCH Medicine Department he Dr P K Sinha said.
Central team held a second meeting with state’s health principal secretary and or officials Monday here, before returning to national capital.

State Health Minister Mangal Pandey claimed that central team praised efforts of state government in fighting COVID-19 pandemic. He said state government has sought more necessary health equipment for more effectively tackling of outbreak.
Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Ashwini Kumar Choubey, who hails from Bihar, said Central government will furr extend all possible help to state in combating COVID-19 after taking feedback from visiting team.
Choubey said that central government has me 10,000 rapid antigen test kits available to state government.
ICMR has me antigen kits available to UP, Delhi, Lakh, Daman and rth eastern states on a priority basis, he ded.
