Good move? Maharashtra to continue urgent pre-Monsoon works during Coronavirus lockdown

As per the revised guidelines by the Government of Maharashtra, all the urgent pre-monsoon related works will continue during the 21-days national lockdown.

Amid national lockdown for 21 days due to Coronavirus crisis,  Maharashtra government has issued revised protocol to be followed by citizens during three-week-long curfew. While many of guidelines follow those issued by Centre earlier, one additional one that sticks out is that all urgent pre-monsoon related works will continue during lockdown.

India under lockdown

Prime Minister Narendra Modi anunced a 21-day lockdown in entire country effective from midnight of March 25 to deal with spread of coronavirus, saying that "social distancing" is only option to deal with disease, which spreads rapidly. 21-day curfew is applicable to all states, districts, and vills - irrespective of wher y were earlier under curfew or t. 

Taking to Twitter, PM Modi urged people t to panic and stated that essential goods are services will be available during lockdown.

Coronavirus crisis

As of date, India has reported over 600 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19. Out of all states, Maharashtra has crossed a total of 115 positive cases becoming highest number of cases detected in country. Meanwhile, twelve people have died so far due to deadly virus. Due to outbreak, India has been put under a national lockdown for 21 days. Furr, India has also closed India-Pakistan border and restricted passenger movement at border with Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, and Myanmar.  

Presently, re are around 471,311 confirmed cases of COVID-19 which has led to death of around 21,293 people. Meanwhile, around 114,642 have reportedly been recovered. hardest-hit region, after China, is Italy, Iran and South Korea, where number of cases is rising by hour.
