Coronavirus: MEA informed about students from Guj in China
The Gujarat government has shared with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and Indian Embassy in China the information about over 200 students from the state, who are currently in the neighbouring country and want to return after the outbreak of novel coronavirus there, officials said on Friday

State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) in Gujarat has collected and shared information about se students and a few or people from state living in China. " SEOC control room in Gandhinagar has shared details about 215 persons, mostly students, with MEA and Indian Embassy in China to help authorities in bringing m back," Deputy Collector, SEOC, Trupti Vyas said. "We h received phone calls from parents and relatives of se 215 persons. parents inquired about steps being taken by government in bringing back students from China, and also about airline bookings and connecting flights," she said.
All parents were given contact numbers of Indian Embassy in China for any or inquiry about ir children, Vyas ded. Three days back, Gujarat government h anunced that students and or travellers from Gujarat, who are currently in China, as well as ir parents here could contact SEOC control room on 079-23251900 to seek government's help or share any or information.

"We collected all necessary information, such as name, dress and contact numbers of parents here and ir children in China. We sent this data about 215 persons and ir relatives to MEA and Indian Embassy," Vyas said, ding that so far, 43 persons, most of whom are students, have returned to Gujarat from China.
She said that one student h mand to get an air ticket for his travel from China to Delhi, but could t get confirmed railway ticket from Delhi to Gujarat, following which his parents started calling SEOC. "After our request to railway officials, y confirmed ticket so that student could reach Gujarat without any hassle," Vyas ded.

government officials said that case of coronavirus has been found in state so far. preliminary health screening of 43 persons, who arrived in Gujarat from China over last few days, did t show any symptoms of vel coronavirus infection, officials have said.
state government has tied up with National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune to check samples for detection of possible coronavirus cases. state health department has put in place a round--clock screening facility, with a rmal scanner, at Ahmedab airport to detect possible cases of coronavirus and also set up an isolation ward in a civil hospital to treat patients suspected of contracting infection.
