Coronavirus: Mumbai airport starts screening passengers arriving from Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Nepal

The Mumbai airport on Saturday said it has started screening passengers arriving from Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Nepal for coronavirus in compliance with the central government's directives.

Mumbai airport on Saturday said it has started screening passengers arriving from Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Nepal for coronavirus in compliance with central government's directives.

Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL), which is joint venture company managing and operating city airport, said it is alrey screening passengers from China, Honk Kong, Singapore, Thailand and South Korea.

Abiding by recent directive issued by central government, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has started screening passengers flying from Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Nepal to Mumbai as well for coronavirus infection, airport said in a statement.

Ministry of Health has tightened screenings and has issued an visory requiring all passengers arriving from se countries to undergo screening for infection, it said.

Health counters have been set up and rmal scanners installed at pre-immigration area for arriving passengers by Airport Health Organisation, MIAL said in statement.

Besides, airport has ensured that alert messs are placed strategically across terminal and that airlines have been sensitised and informed to follow instructions of government, it ded. PTI IAS ANB
