COVID-19: Tamil Nadu govt to carry out inspection in state-run hospitals for preparedness
Tamil Nadu government wanted to ensure required facilities like beds and oxygen are available at 11,300 health facilities across the state, the minister said.

Tamil Nu Health Ministry will carry out inspection in all government hospitals across state for two days from April 10 to increase facilities to meet challenges of surge in COVID-19 cases and or infections, Health Minister M Subramanian said on Saturday.
Speaking to reporters after reviewing Government Hospital in Mettupalayam, Minister said that re was an increase in COVID infections and variants of Omicron and considering m, government has me wearing masks mandatory for all those visiting hospitals including doctors, patients and visitors.

Though States like Kerala, Karnataka and Himachal Presh reported 300 to 500 infections, Tamil Nu recorded 139 cases of Omicron variant XBB and BA 2 on Friday, minister said.

Health department is also carrying out random checks in International Airports and about 120 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Tamil Nu on a single day on Friday, Subramaniam said.
On ministering booster dose at this juncture, Subramaniam said that Centre stopped supplying medicines since re was nil incident of infection. Tamil Nu h covered 95 per cent of population under vaccine, including second wave of COVID-19, Minister said.
