COVID-19 cases in Telangana rise; 'State govt ready to provide treatment,' says CM KCR

Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao said that State Govt is taking all measures to contain COVID-19 but at the same time people should follow personal hygiene

Telangana on Monday reported five more deaths and 92 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking toll in state to 142 and tally of infections to 3,742. CM K Chandrashekhar Rao said that State Government is taking all measures to contain coronavirus but at same time people should follow personal hygiene, take necessary precautions ding that even if COVID-19 cases are large in number, Government is rey to offer treatment.

"re are symptoms to many people who have virus, but a small number of those who are having or diseases are falling seriously sick. government is taking all measures to contain virus. But yet at same time, people should follow personal hygiene, take necessary precautions. Even if COVID-19 cases are large in number, government is rey to offer treatment," Rao said according to a statement released by CMO.

"According to ICMR guidelines, those patients who are in serious condition y are being treated in hospitals, those asymptomatic patients are treated at home," he ded.

KCR held a high-level review meeting on spre of Coronavirus, measures taken to contain it and or related issues at Pragathi Bhavan in Hyderab on Monday. Meanwhile, state health officials and experts observed during meeting that government hospitals were in a position to treat COVID-19 patients even if ir number furr increased, release said.

y expressed anguish that some individuals and some media organisations indulged in "wrong campaign" on this, confusing people, it said. Efforts were being me to affect morale of frontline healthcare personnel by spreing word that doctors and ors were being affected by virus, y said ding only 153 healthcare personnel have so far been affected in state.

In AIIMS at New Delhi, a total of 480 personnel were affected by COVID-19, according to release. Talking about alleged misinformation campaigns that re were equate arrangements to treat patients if ir number increased, officials said 9.61 lakh personal protection equipment (PPE) kits were available along with required ggets.
