COVID test mandatory for MLAs to attend TN Assembly

As part of measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus, "all MLAs should undergo a test" compulsorily in about 72 hours before the start of the session to determine if they are infectedwith the pathogen or not.

Legislators should compulsorily undergoa COVID test to take part in Tamil Nu Assembly session thatis set to commence on September 14, government said on Tuesday.

As part of measures to prevent spre of coronavirus, "all MLAs should undergo a test" compulsorily in about 72 hours before start of session to determine if y are infectedwith pathogen or t.

A Tamil Nu Legislative Assembly release said arrangements have been me to test legislators in ir respective districts from September 11 onwards.

Also, Assembly personnel, marshals, officials and journalists should possess a "coronavirus negative certificate" for entry into Assembly hall, government said.

Arrangements for testing have also been me in MLAs residential quarters here and for ors in Assembly Secretariat premises.

Barring MLAs, "only those who have specific authorisation card issued by Assembly Secretariat would be allowed in Assembly hall."
